Our staff & doctors are here to help make sure that all your questions are answered.

Children’s Heart Center Nevada has been providing the very best medical care to children with heart disease since 1980. We are one of the largest pediatric cardiology programs in the country – we have more than 50,000 patient contacts each year. We have three offices and multiple outreach clinics in Nevada and we provide consultation and inpatient visits for children at most Nevada hospitals. We see all children in need of our services.  And on the same day, if necessary.

Our job is to thoroughly evaluate your child’s heart to determine if a problem exists or not. We understand that being referred to us is very distressing. Our staff and doctors are here to help make sure that all your questions are answered.

Reasons for Referral

The most common reason why your child would be referred to our office is that a heart murmur has been heard. Other reasons for referral may be chest pain, or an irregular heartbeat or some other condition that may be affecting the heart.

The word “murmur” is the source of much anxiety, but it simply means “sound.” Our job is to determine if this sound or “murmur” is something to be concerned about or not. If we find the heart murmur is a normal sound, you should not be concerned about it.

If we find a problem during the exam or from the tests, then the condition will be fully explained to you.
